NEW ARRIVALS + FEATURE

Some of the cute stuff that has just arrived in store! I especially love lilac lace tulle dress-could see myself wearing that with thin strappy heels & chunky crystal earrings. Perfect if one was on a romantical date night? *sigh*
Anyway, here's a little feature I did for the Eclektic Photography newsletter this month on dressing for Summer & some general styling tips-Enjoy!
- How can ladies wear summery outfits without looking like they're not wearing much?
My favourite way to adapt to Summer is by wearing leggings! You can find them in almost any length, colour & thin enough to 'breathe' through the hot weather. Add your favourite long tops or short Summer dresses to the mix with a statement piece of jewellery & you've go your look! Another favourite if you're in a hurry is a patterned maxi dress & a cute pair of sandals.
 - What are some upcoming trends?
A lot of trends that I'm seeing coming through are anything with a peplum shape, sequin details, metallic colours & lots & lots of texture!
- How to get your desired look within a budget?
Look for clothing pieces that are easily interchangeable with the rest of your wardrobe.  A great way to get a great on trend look is by adding different accessories to what you already wear; for example adding a chunky collar necklace to your favourite t-shirt & jeans combo. Buying a new accessory is much easier on the wallet than buying a whole new outfit.

LAMP POST

{Sportscraft shirt, Skinny Chili asymmetrical skirt, Skinny Chili rainbow rose blazer, Sportsgirl pumps, Skinny Chili dusk pink satchel & Cotton On clear mirror sunglasses}

It's about that time of year when things start getting a little bit crazy & super busy & amidst all that is me. A few months worth of backlog & busyness has pulled me down into the large abyss of sickness-so I do apologise for the lack of posts! In these past two weeks alone I've lost my hearing & my voice! I hope it all comes back soon!
Away from my useless babbling, I'd have to say that this second look from our up & coming lookbook is my favourite one! It's on trend, with a pinch of business & colour. I was so tempted to name this skirt the mullet skirt-party in the front, Amish business in the back!

CANDY COATED

{Wearing: Sportscraft shirt, Dotti shorts, Skinny Chili Vintage Blazer, Sportsgirl heels & clutch}

So happy to show you one of our first looks from the new Skinny Chili lookbook! The blazer makes everything effortless enough to just throw on with rolled up sleeves; yet mysterious... Is it a dress? Is it a blazer? Over all I love the berry pastel concoction of colours in this blazer... Almost looks good enough to eat!

SUMMER WISHING

 {Brooke's wearing: Sportsgirl tee, Sportsgirl charcoal jeans, Wittner booties, Chloe bag, Virtu oversized cardigan & Pandora bracelet}

I have been wanting to introduce you for some time now, to our sometimes photographer of our outfit blog posts. Apart from photographing, she is our friend, fellow fashion lover & the above pictures show you a bit of what we get up to after shooting outfits! For a bit of fun, I interviewed Brooke on a few things & she tells us her favourite picks from our Skinny Chili store:

1. Birthday month: Novemberrr

2. Your nickname is? Brooklyn (even though its longer than my actual name)

3. What's mostly in your closet? different types of jackets, example cardigans, oversized jumpers, blazers & coats

4. How would you describe your style? I'd like to think my style is indie with a hint of street, really fresh and comfy.

5. You can't live without? pens & notebooks! & any type of camera.

6. Your favourite perfume/beauty/hair product: Marc Jacobs - Oh, Lola! perfume

7. Your favourite quote? i have so maaaaany! One that I just heard recently and i love is - "if your dreams don't scare you, then their not big enough"

8. If you had a day to yourself with no set backs, what would you do? Does that mean unlimited money? Ahahaha then i would go shopping, get an amazing face & back massage, discover a new cafe, lie down on fluffy grass and cloud gaze, make a new friend & buy a special little something to bring home for the family (:

9. Why do you love photography? because its absolutely amazing! I grew up taking pictures and its an amazing way to really capture moments and to show a certain object or scene in such an extinct way. A lot of people see things and just walk past them or drive past them but i stop and really take in the details of small things or stare at a certain scenery in amazement and awe, and i immediately start taking pictures from different angles because a camera can see so much more than what an eye can see and thats what i love! when you look through a camera lens its like everything comes to life, it all looks so much more bolder and it lasts forever.

GREEN WITH ENVY

 {Vintage evening dress, Soho slip, Siren heels, SES trench, Pura vida bracelet}

So happy that the sun has finally come out to play! I've been wanting to do a post on this dress for a while but with all the rain & storms we've recently endured, it didn't  feel right. I love how this dress graciously billows in the wind & is so light to wear... So light in fact, that you need to wear a slip underneath! But with that aside, I've realised that I've added a few dark accessories, including dark plum lips. The trench has been my go-to jacket all Winter & I love throwing it over my shoulders as a cape. Thinking of wearing this ensemble to an up & coming wedding-what do you think?
